Aranel was shocked by the sudden outburst at first, but the shock quickly faded as she thought of all of the people she had met, since she came to Aberon, who seemed even less stable when it came to wearing their emotions on their sleeve... In fact, I'm probably not much better. I've simply had plenty of years to find the right mask to fit any occasion...
Aranel smiled slightly and assured, "It's alright. From what I've heard, learning a new language is difficult... If you would like, I could see if I could possibly help with your vocabulary."
She glanced down at Amarth's knee and saw the quickly darkening bruise and, with concern, asked, "Are you going to be alright?

Amarth sighed and nodded, "I will be well. I spent a few years looking much worse than this." She thought of the past seven years and recalled how beaten up she had become; this one bruise was nothing compared to that.
"There are many words that I am being taught already... You taught me the word 'relieve' and I know 'temperature' has to do with hot and cold... I do not think I need a teacher, but just to listen. I am sorry for my outburst, I am more often better with myself. You teach me every time you speak, and that will be enough for me," Amarth said after thinking for a moment. She didn't want to have to depend on another. Besides, she would still be speaking Kreeshone just as much, so she would have to slowly learn Common.
And her pride couldn't take another blow like that.

Aranel was still worried for Amarth, but she let the worry fade, trusting the Kreeshone to know her limits.
With a warm smile, Aranel laughed, "It seems you have found one of the things few people understand, but everyone knows. The first part is: The easiest way to teach is through story. The second part is: The easiest way to learn is through story. Few people actually connect the fact that when they listen to a story, they learn something about history, or language, or even just fantasy... I'd be honored to help you in any way I can."

OOC- Oookay, I have to get off. *Sigh* lol talk to ya'll later!!
IC- Amarth listened as Aranel talked fondly of telling tales.
"Are you... do you tell this story? Did you do that before leading the Varden?" Amarth asked, wondering what a story was. She hadn't heard anyone else speak of them and was rather curious. "I do not mean to push, but I want to know."

With a reminiscent smile as she thought back to her time in Therinsford, Aranel nodded. "I was actually born in the Empire, pretty far north; I didn't move to Aberon until a couple months ago. Up until I left home, my uncle trained me in the art. I am what is called a storyteller. We tell the past and present, sometimes even hope for the future, but the real skill is not the words, but how they are spoken. It is said the great storytellers can hold an audience for hours..." Snapping out of her slight reverie unnoticed, she continued, "The stories tell the lives of the famed Dragonriders before their fall, and they tell of the Varden and how they help to try and save the people of Alagaesia... sometimes the stories speak of a brighter future, away from all of this fighting, and war..."
Suddenly a thought occurred to Aranel that she may possibly have a way to express this better by using a comparison. "What are your dances like? I mean, what is their purpose? Are their any that tell of a past battle, or perhaps a love between two people?"
Aranel had no idea if the dances were as related to the stories as she thought, but it could not hurt to ask.

As Aranel had begun to weave her words, Amarth found herself getting lost in them... and snapping out of them at the same time as Aranel. When the woman asked about her dancing, Amarth sighed happily.
"We have many dances; we dance for love and life, joy and praise. We dance for seduction. We dance for the sun and the moon and the stars... everything. Some of my people dance in hatred and anger, bringing down the mood of everyone watching. It is said that one man once danced with so much hate that everyone watching killed each other, but I do no know if it is true."
Amarth softly rose to her aching feet and moved a few steps, her arms raised to the sun and her back arched slightly. Her wings were out at their fullest, moving slightly with the rhythm to the beat in Amarth's head. The few steps she did were steps of friendship and hope; the two blended perfectly together.

OCC: I am soo sorry yall my sister got to the computer first and was on till like 1 am so I gave up and went to bed.
IC: Tijia's eyelids fluttered open as Amarth began to dance. She watched through half shut lashes in wonder of the beauty in the steps. It looked so simple and yet complex. Finally Tijia could stand the urge to yawn no longer and let out a small squeak before opening her mouth wide and stretching herself. The small blanket slipped off her shoulders. She stood up and retrieved it before neatly laying it on the bed. She said a quick 'thank you' to Amarth before sitting back down in the chair. She smiled and said,"Excuse me I just drifted off for a second there. Pray, what did you talk about while I was dozing?"

OOC- Haha, it's fine, you had the good idea of making you go to sleep, so it all worked out just fine.
IC- Amarth stopped when she heard Tijia let out a small squeak and smiled when the Rider yawned and stretched. "I am sorry if we woke you," she said as she sat back down on the bed, the reverie of her dance broken. The dance to her was simple, but it meant so much and the meaning had added infinite complexities to her steps.
"We spoke of Common and how it is not easy... we spoke of dancing and... stories," Amarth said the last word, stories, with a proud voice; she was happy she'd remembered the word and happy that she liked what it was so much.

"You didn't I think my brain just decided it was time for me to wake up and join the party. It doesn't sound like I missed much. You know I think that whenever you make something really you are telling a story. Whether it's a dance, a song, a poem, or a bow. Any and all arts can tell a story. Marvelous to think about isn't it?" Tijia smiled and unsheathed her sword. Looking at the details she saw a story but maybe the others thought she was crazy for thinking so broadly.

Amarth smiled, "I like the way you think, Tijia. Each person can tell a story by what they do, whether it is a sword, a dance, or a story. I like that very much." Amarth thought about what the Rider said, and wondered what story Serth told by bringing some of his people here.
Outside, there was a rumble of thunder and Amarth smiled. "I always love when it..." Amarth had used the Kreeshonian word for "storms" subconciously. She didn't know she'd done it because it seemed natural to her and she didn't know the Common word for what she meant.
Opening the windows wide, Amarth breathed in the sweet smell of rain. Lightning lit up the sky and she was silhouetted in light; her black wings seemed blacker and her violet eyes brighter. More than anything, she loved the raging weather, because it was like her.
OOC: I didn't mean to cause confusion, but I don't really think I'm allowed to make up Kreeshonian words, so I just explained what I meant instead of actually making up a word lol.

Tijia looked wonderingly at the fresh storm. When she saw Amarth though, lit up by the lightning, the lovelyness of the storm faded from her eyes and she saw what an amazing and firey woman Amarth was. She smiled largely and went to stand by Amarth in the window. "Beautiful aren't they? In Du Weldenvarden the tumult of the storm is kept out by the trees. Here you can see it and smell it and feel it. It is just so wonderful! It is dificult to carve but I managed it once. Hmm yew, three feet long, 1 1/2 inches wide. Pretty wood, the wrong shade for the design but it looked beautiful anyways.", she whispered as storm clouds bloomed and let their water fall to the earth.

Amarth turned and looked at the Elf in wonder. "You have carved this... this storm, you call it? Do you have it with you?"
Lightning flashed through the sky again and Amarth watched as Tijia's icey blue eyes became electrified by the heavenly lights. "Aranel spoke earlier of my beauty, but you, Tijia, are just as beautiful, if not more, than I am," she whispered. The women she had seen in the past couple days in the Market were nothing compared to the women she had met in the past couple hours.
Everyone was so unique, and even more so since they were all different races.

Tijia turned to look at the Kreeshone. "No I do not have it with me. It's home is in Du Weldenvarden. It was a special order. You see I carve bows and arrows. This particular one was for a little girl I met in town one day. She was poor and trying to learn to shoot with a pathetic thing. So I made her a proper bow. I asked her what she wanted it to look like. Frankly I expected something childish and simple like flowers but no she wanted it to have the curves of a strong wind and a large blooming cloud. That was the first time I ever left the forest. I had never seen a true storm so I waited until the weather was just right and went just outside the forest. It was wonderful sleeping under the stars and the rain. A merchant offered me a small fortune for that bow but it was special and only for the girl." She stopped talking and sighed at the thought of her seemingly distant past.

Amarth smiled as she thought of the little girl she had seen in the Market today, trying to copy her intricate steps as she dance.
"To have children... Do you have any children?" Amarth asked softly. She would love more than anything to have a child of her own, but it was impossible for the Kreeshone to have children, after the sickness was brought back.
Amarth's eyes were lit up by another flash of lightning and a single tear danced down her cheeck. She wiped it away gently, still thinking of all the little Kreeshone children that would never be born.

Tijia smiled sadly,"No I've never really thought of having a husband or even just a mate. I was always too centered around work. I think the closest I ever came to having a 'boyfriend' was my old business partner. But, can you not have children for some reason Amarth?"
