OOC- Don't think so... I was just wondering if she was with us, or if we would just say that she opted to stay in the pub...

OOC- Sorry! I'm here! Lol I'm doing this fast so we can get this going again haha.
IC- Amarth nodded to the man and his wife that were in the small restraunt that were part of the inn. The woman smiled at her warmly and the man gave a curt nod; Amarth like the wife better.
Leading the small troop up to her room on the third floor, Amarth took out the key she had on a necklace and opened the door, allowing everyone to go in before she did. When they were all inside, Amarth sat down on the bed, crossing her legs(Indian-style) and spread her wings, opening them to their full span of 18 feet. She breathed in slowly and out slowly for a moment before refocusing on the room of people in front of her. Her thoughts were of happier times now and they were of her new friends.
"I am sorry for my sullen mood, it has truly been the longest day possible," the Kreeshone said to the young women in front of her in her funny, formal Common.

Aranel still could not help but admire Amarth's beatiful wings. Aranel sat down on the ground and leaned against the wall. She laughed a bit when Amarth mentioned that today had been the longest day.
"Don't I know that feeling. It seems that quite a few of those find me," Aranel commented. With a slight change of subject caused by her curiosity, Aranel asked, "What were you two talking about before I arrived?"

"Tijia and I were discussing what we were to teach one another; I am going to teach her how to dance, only a few steps, and she is going to teach me how to be better with swords," Amarth replied. She glanced over at her new-found Rider friend to see her asleep in one of the comfortable chairs that graced the room. Smiling, she lifted a blanket off her bed and lay it over the Rider in a motherly fashion.
Sitting back down on her bed, Amarth spread her wings again. "I hope you do not mind, but the higher I spread my wings, the more tension is... taken away... from my shoulders," Amarth said as she did so. She couldn't think of the word 'relieved' in Common, so improvised. Sighing and grinning, she added, "Common is a difficult language, I am sorry for my lack of words at times."

"Sounds like a pretty good trade," Aranel remarked as Amarth got up and caringly placed a blanket over Tijia.
As the Kreeshone sat back down and spoke, then added that she did not know a few words for things, Aranel thought about her previous sentence. "Perhaps, 'relieved' is the word you were looking for, when you said that the tension is 'taken away.'" Then, with a smile, she added, "Not that taken away doesn't work just as well, but I thought I may as well mention the word."
Aranel decided to take this night, and forget about the troubles of being the leader of the Varden. She was never one to enjoy this kind of attention, as she had been trained into modesty as many storytellers are.

Blushing with the happiness of learning a new word, Amarth tried it on her lips. "Relieved," she nodded. "Thank you for teaching me this new word, relieved. I enjoy being taught new words."
Glancing over at Tijia, Amarth made sure she didn't stir at all. Knowing she was okay, Amarth looked back at Aranel, who had looked at Amarth's wings when she had first stretched them out. I wonder what they think of my wings, she thought silently and in her original tongue of Kreeshone.

Aranel smiled, saying, "I'm always glad to spread my knowledge."
Aranel settled herself into a more comfortable position, bending her knees and folding her arms around them. Her mind drifted slightly, and moments later she found herself staring at Amarth's wings. She blushed slightly, but managed to say, "Your wings are beautiful." She hesitated a moment, then queried, "C-can I touch them?"
Her voice was only slightly louder than a whisper so as to not disturb the Rider sleeping a few feet away.

Amarth held in a laugh and joy filled her deep purple eyes. She nodded softly and stood, letting her wings fall a little, the black shimmering in the soft firelight.
"No person has ever asked me to touch them, but you may. Most of my kind do not see the beauty in our wings, they just think of them as useful. But me... I think of them as works of art... My black wings shimmer with blues and greens in the bright light of the sun... My mother and father taught me to find the beauty in my wings," Amarth said softly as she walked over to where Aranel sat.
Aranel looked so small where she sat; so small and so beautiful. Amarth had to think back to the moment they met to see the fierceness in her eyes. She knew Aranel would be a great leader.

"The only problem with just seeing things as useful is that everything is useful, but few things hold beauty. I'm truly glad to see that you realize that your wings are beautiful, as are you, and I hope, too, that you do not forget that," Aranel expressed her wishes with gladness.
When Amarth was beside her, Aranel cautiously reached out a hand, not quite sure what to expect to feel. As her fingers slid across the feathery wings, Aranel tried to pin down what they felt like.
One moment, they feel soft as down, the next they feel slick as though they would be untouched by any sort of weather, and still the next they feel like something completely different... she mused. Then, she said aloud, in the bearest of whispers, "Incredible..."
She slowly withdrew her hand, once again blushing slightly. "Thank you."

Blushing when Aranel spoke of her beauty, she couldn't think of anything to say. Amarth nodded after Aranel was finished stroking her wings. Sitting back down on the bed and spreading them out, Amarth smiled contentedly.
"What... what do they feel like to you?" Amarth asked as she brought her right wing down and felt it. To her, it felt like everything and nothing, but she didn't know how other people thought they felt.
As she put the wing back in the air, Amarth looked again to Tijia to make sure she was still sleeping soundly. She didn't want to wake the Rider and almost wished she could do the same. But, if she did, she would not be able to have this time with Aranel, who was turning out to be more interesting than Amarth cold have imagined.

Aranel thought for a moment on how to best explain her thoughts, then began, "Truthfully, I had expected them to feel much like a bird's, and I had thought there would be a consistancy to them." She looked at her hand as though remembering what the wings felt like beneath her fingertips, and continued, "Instead, it was almost as though they were constantly changing. First they felt as soft as a hatchling's fluffy down, then they changed to the sleek, protective coat of a water-bird, resistant to any force of nature, be it wind or rain. Also, there was a shift between heat and cold, as though adjusting to the temperature in the room... I'm not too sure what else to say..."
Aranel looked at the wingéd woman, and thought, "How different she is here than when she first met me outside that pub and didn't know if I was friend or foe..."

Amarth thought for a moment and smiled. "Yes, they feel much the same to me, I believe. I do not much... feel the change in the... temperature, you called it. I do not feel the hot to cold, but I do change my body with the room around me," she said, trying to explain things using the right words. "Everything is easier in my head because I know all the words!" Amarth said, rather loudly, suddenly frustrated with her lack of knowledge when it came to Common. As she yelled, she slammed her fist on her knee and a bruise formed quickly, showing her and everyone else how strong she was.
Ashamed of her temper, Amarth took in a few deep breaths before apologizing with, "I am sorry. I did not mean to... I am sorry."
Looking over at the sleeping Tijia, Amarth hoped the Rider wouldn't stir and awaken because of her immature outburst.
Aranel must think so little of me. She saw me defensive and mean when I met her, then wary, then relaxed, happy... and now this. I'm a storm of emotions, Amarth thought in her mind as she calmed herself down.
