3 Staff: Aranel, Iio, Kono
Name: Requiem Nikolas Amunet
Age: Twenty-eight
Race: Human Rider
Gender: Male
Alliegance: Imperial
Birthplace: Outside Uru’baen
Hometown: Uru’baen
Du Edoc'sil: No
Hair//Eye//Skin Color: Nikolas’ head is shaved, showing off four tiger-stripe tattoos on his head. His hair, when grown out, is dark brown and shaggy, but it is almost always shaved. // His eyes are bright blue and very observant. // Skin is nicely tanned from all his time spent outdoors.
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 172 lbs.
Description: Nikolas is tall and strong. His eyes are his best facial feature, but he has an overall attractive, strong-looking face with a strong jaw and dark eyebrows and eyelashes to frame his electrifying eyes. He has been training since he was fourteen, so he is strong and experienced with his sword and his magic. His clothes are earth-tones of browns and greens. The belt around his waist is finely crafted leather and it holds his sword which is long and straight, inlaid with emeralds that match his dragon. Nikolas’ boots are fine brown leather that go over his brown pants. His tunics are normally green and are sleeveless, showing off his fine muscles arms. On his forearms are brown leather bracers that match his boots and belt.
When Nikolas is in Uru’baen for a time, he’ll wear nicer clothes; the green tunics are richer and embroidered with gold and dark green threads that create near unseen patterns in his tunics. Of course, these are high collared so they look nicer as well.
His attitude isn’t filled with greed or hatred, although his dislike for the Varden is great. When he’s with his friends or just people he knows, he is loud and boisterous he loves having fun and being with his dragon, Anhmik. Fighting is his passion and he loves to help train the new members of his queen’s ranks. He likes his use of magic, but enjoys swordplay more. Nikolas has never been close to anyone and doesn’t really know how to open up to people; it takes him a long time to trust people, and even then he has a difficult time opening up.
His manner is rather quiet, because he listens and watches what people do. Some would consider him shy, but he is nothing of the sort; he would just rather listen than talk sometimes. When he fights, he is almost silent, never seeing the need to speak.
Nikolas gets angry, just like any man, and gets into some fights, but most people avoid fighting him on the fact that he is a Rider. Most of the time, he is rather patient, but does get annoyed in some situations.
Weapon of Choice: He carries his sword with him at all times. It’s long and rather heavy, since he is so strong. The hilt is inlaid with emeralds and gold. He also has a knife that he carries in his boot leg; the hilt is just gold and, other than that, it’s a simple but sharp weapon.
Magical Experience: He’s rather skilled when it comes to his use of the Ancient language, since he began learning at age thirteen.
Languages: Speaks fluent Common, a good bit of Ancient, and some Urgal that is rarely used.
Occupation: Before Nikolas became a Rider, nearly two years ago, he was in the army of Meru as a spy and assassin, which he had done since age eighteen. He still does this when need be, because his training is top-notch and there are very few in the Imperial army that are better at it than him.
Literacy: Reads and writes in Common.
History: Nikolas’ mother died when he was but five years old, leaving him to be raised by governesses because his father was a distant man, only caring about making money. He grew up with a lot of meaningless friends that meant nothing to him later in life. He didn’t go to school with the other children; his father paid private tutors to come to the house and teach his son so he would have the best education. Nikolas never learned what it was like to love or be close to someone, so he is a rather hard person, with a heart covered in a layer of ice.
At age seventeen, Nikolas decided to join the ranks in the army and see what he could do there. He trained far faster than the other young men and he was noticed by those higher up. They decided to have his training take a different direction and began training him as an assassin and spy. Seven months of intense training got him a wonderful job working for his queen.
For years, he went to wherever he was told either to listen or to kill, and had a wonderful time doing so. Not because he was killing people, but because he was getting paid a good sum of money so he was able to do whatever he wanted, and because he was getting to see more places than he ever thought he would see. Money was never Nikolas’ main focus because he knew his father had enough to provide for him for life.
Returning from an assignment when he was twenty-five, Nikolas discovered that his father had died in his absence. He felt no pain from it because the man that died was someone he had never really known; he was just someone he called Father on the occasions when they were entertaining. Other than that, they were never together.
From his father, Nikolas received a very considerable amount of money and he was set for life. His house was rarely used over the next year and half because he was still working as an assassin and a house was barely needed. Since he was always masked when killing, no one ever knew what his face looked like, and he also had hair in those days. He looks very different now than when he had first started killing. The only thing that has remained constant is his eyes.
Very few know that Nikolas’ first name is Requiem, but it is what Anhmik calls him most of the time. The day Anhmik hatched was a glorious one for Nikolas. He had never expected to be allowed to touch the eggs, let alone the chance of one of them hatching. If anything, Nikolas always expected that a blue egg would hatch, but when the emerald egg with silvery veins began humming and a crack ran along its side, Nikolas was surprised and elated. Out popped a small green male dragon and the bond was already complete.
Now Nikolas and Anhmik train ferociously, always striving to be the best. Their skills together are good, but they still have much to learn together.
Dragon Name: Anhmik
Dragon Gender: Female
Dragon Color: Emerald with a silvery underbelly
Dragon Age: Two years
Dragon Description: Anhmik is a long dragon that looks like she was built for speed. Her maw is long and her pearly teeth are sharp. The spikes that run along Anhmik’s neck start right at the back of her head and travel down. Her coloring is deep and glorious. She loves nothing more than to be with her Rider. Anhmik is fiercely devoted to Nikolas and cares much for her. They make a deadly team. Her nickname is Mika, like "Me-ka."
Nikolas usually calls Anhmik "Mika" and she usually calls him Requiem. The only time she uses his more popular name of Nikolas or Amunet(as some call him), is when she wants to get his attention and let him know how serious she is. Likewise, Nikolas is opposite of that; if he wants to get her attention seriously, he calls Mika by Anhmik. He either calls her Mika or Anhmika, even though that's not her name. Those are their terms of endearment.
Introduction: Nikolas wiped sweat off his forehead; he had just finished practicing his swordsmanship with one of the masters of the fighting arena. The fight was close, but in the end Nikolas had lost, but his pride was not hurt. Looking up into the sun, Nikolas saw Anhmik soaring in the sky, her scales shining in the mid-day sun.
Anything fun to do today? dragon asked Rider. Nikolas replied with a quick no, not knowing what else to say. He was disappointed; there was nothing to do. Get down here, Anhmik. We’re going swimming, Nikolas finally decided. He was rather disgusting and thought a good swim would be a good thing for the day and for his hygiene. Nikolas nodded at the man he had just been fighting, tossed his practice sword to a nearby man who was without one, and sprinted outside the arena walls.
Anhmik had barely landed before Nikolas jumped on. Strapping himself in quickly, Nikolas felt Anhmik tense before leaping into the air, spreading his glorious wings and flying high into the sky. Soon they were at their favorite lake. Hovering many feet above the water, Anhmik allowed Nikolas to unstrap himself, stand on the saddle, and leap into the water. He dove deep under and began swimming up the long way. Halfway up, he heard Anhmik in his head saying, Still alive down there, Requiem? She was joking and Nikolas rolled his eyes, wishing they had something better to do than swim.
