Name:[/u]
Iio
Age:
678, though he appears in his late 20's.
Race:[/u]
Elf
Gender:[/u]
Male
Alliegance:[/u]
First to the Elves, then to the Varden, then to Surda.
Birthplace:[/u]
Iio was born in a city that no longer exists. It was located north of where Belatona is now.
Hometown:[/u]
Iio's home is in Ellesmera, but being a Rider, he travels to and from the Elves and Surda.
Du Edoc'sil?:[/u]
Yes.
Hair//Eye//Skin color:[/u]
Iio has somewhat long, brown hair that has a slight hue of red. His eyes are are teal color; a blend of dark blue and green. Iio's skin is fair, though not as much as that of the average elf, due to him flying on his dragon, Lejei, which exposes his skin more to the sun than if he were in Du Weldenvarden.
Height:[/u]
6 feet, 3 inches.
Weight:[/u]
208 pounds.
Description:[/u]
Iio is, at first glance, tall and handsome. He has strong facial features and cut muscles. He has pointed ears, like all elves, and high cheek bones. He has a squared of chin, and a rough jaw bone, which gives Iio an exotic, yet handsome, strong appeal.
He has a mixture of dark blue and forest green eyes, which are deep and fierce. They are serious and no emotion or lies can be found through them. He doesn't have bushy eyebrows, nor are they thin, and they are the same color as his hair. His nose is round, but not overly large. His upper lip is somewhat thin, and his bottom normal. His hair is a brown, with a slight hint of red, but the red is only visible in the sunlight. It reaches just past his shoulders, and is usually bound at the end of it, so it is kept out of his face. It is always clean, and kept combed. His teeth are of average size, and are purely white. His muscles are there, but seem larger then they are, due to the lack of fat. He looks like he has extremely large muscles, and is by no means weak, and with his elven strength, he is far from it.
Iio is very strong, both mentally and physically. To break into his mind would be a feat that only Galbatorix, or some incredible Kreeshonian master could accomplish. His magic is what he most concentrated on, and has been training with it for centuries. He is a master with it - by any standards, whether they be from the Kreeshone or the elves, his magic is excellent. His sword skills are terrific as well; his teal blade is like an extension of his arm, able to be whirled about with extreme ease. His movements, in and out of battle, are of extreme ease and swiftness, making him deadly.
Iio wears clothes in the hues of blues and greens, mostly because they are calm, soothing colors. All of his clothes are of quality elven make, and are all soft and flexible. His shirts are usually sleeveless, as to not effect his sword abilities. His pants are made of slightly rougher material than his shirts. Though all of his clothes are made of a soft, flexible material, they are more durable then one would think. Iio will not wear armor unless going to war, in which he owns a set of armor for both him and Lejei, which are both a bright silver that almost appears white. Iio's armor has no scratches, and Lejei's only has a few scratches in his torso area. Both are made by elves, and are of strong, but yet again, extremely flexible, metal.
Being a master in both magic and swordsmanship has brought Iio confidence. He, like most elves, is a peace-loving person, but when the right time arises, Iio will fight. He gives respect to almost everyone, as long as they have not offended him in any way, and is always polite, well minded, and considerate. But most of all, Iio is extremely intelligent. He has read thousands upon thousands of scrolls and history books, and knows the complete history of the elves, dwarves, and Alagaesia. Everything he does is based on logic and what the effect of the action would be, which is why your trust and respect has to be earned, not demanded or expected. He won't trust people completely unless you can prove it to him that your trustworthy, or if he searches your mind - which Iio hates doing unless a situation permits it.
Weapon of Choice:[/u]
Iio is skilled with any sword, and is a good archer, but the only weapon besides his magic is his teal Rider's sword, made by none other then Rhuenon. It has no scratches at all, and was made 594 years ago, when Iio first became a Rider. It matches Lejei's scales perfectly, and shines brightly in the sunlight. It is of the finest make in Alagaesia, able to cut through multiple mediums with ease due to the severely sharp edges. The sword, properly named Hvitr Garjzla, or White Light, weighs less then a short sword of human make. It has three gems in it's hilt, one, a white diamond with power storing abilities, is located where the crossbar and the blade would meet, centered exactly. Then, there are two teal gems, one to the right of the white diamond, and one to the left. When swung, it appears as though it is a teal blur connected to Iio's arm, which is exactly what it is, an extension of the arm.
Magical Experience:[/u]
Iio is, to simply put, a master with magic. Being an elf, he is magically gifted to begin with, but centuries of training have put Iio above the common elf in terms of magical abilities. His dragon, Lejei, is also a great extension for his power and energy, which allows him to use more spells then he normally would.
Languages:[/u]
Speaking common like everyone, Iio can also speak the Ancient Language, along with Kreeshonian and some mediocre Dwarven. He has taught himself Kreeshonian in an amazingly quick time, figuring that it would be an advantage to learn the language of the new race.
Occupation:[/u]
Iio's occupation, if considered one, is that of a Rider; keeping the peace and enforcing the laws of Alagaesia, but more recently, only that of Surda and Du Weldenvarden. He also, to an extent, will teach young warriors how to use a sword; what are great maneuvers to use against others, how to properly hold your sword, and how to block against incoming attacks.
Literacy:[/u]
Iio is able to read and write common, the Ancient Language, and Kreeshonian, and the basics of Dwarven.
Past History:[/u]
Iio was born in a city above what is now Belatona. When he was born, the Empire did not exist, nor did Galbatorix. Times were, as one would call, peaceful. Iio was loved and welcomed as all elven children are, for they come rarely. He was a handsome baby, and was born to Brashia, his mother, and Drunde, his father. He was born into wealth and power. His parents were that of high nobility, and because of which, he was taught how to treat those of royalty and higher nobility. Iio had no brothers or sisters, it was just him and his parents.
Iio started both training with sword and magic when he was just 12, and was being taught by his father, who was an able bodied general of the elven army. His mother held a high command, though not as high as Drunde. Years past, and Iio kept up his training. When he was 84, he tested to see if he could become a Rider. It was no particular surprise when he was chosen as a Rider, and his dragon hatched for him. It was a wonderful teal dragon by the name of Lejei. He was praised and rewarded with gifts for receiving such an honor.
Iio and Lejei grew very close to each other. Iio kept up his training, and took up Rider's training with Lejei. He excelled, and when he completed it at 86, an official Rider's sword was made for him. Time went by as he completed his duties as a Rider, keeping peace in Alagaesia. But then, a young Rider started to rise. Galbatorix was his name, but the minds of the Riders were cloudy, and so it was their downfall. The elves rushed to Du Weldenvarden, and the Riders stood and fought. Iio was one of the more experienced Riders, having been a Rider for around 560 years. Though in the final hour, when push came to shove, Iio was drugged, and was held captive by Galbatorix. Lejei was kept chained up, and his drug's stunted his growth, as to prevent him from growing any larger. Iio was drugged to keep him from using magic, and they were kept down in the vile dungeons for a hundred years. The only factor that kept Iio stable was that he could still communicate with Lejei.
The guards made the biggest mistake of their lives. They thought of Lejei as some dumb animal, so they didn't feel the need to hide what they were saying around him. Lejei told Iio what they said. Galbatorix was leaving the castle for some reason unknown to everyone. Iio took his chance, and, combining both Lejei and his strength, murdered the guards with magic and released themselves. Once Iio had his sword back, the rest of the breakout was easy. He had been storing energy in the gem everyday, and using it, he and Lejei slaughtered all of the guards, and flew off towards Du Weldenvarden, determined to survive.
When Iio arrived at Du Weldenvarden, it was one of the greatest celebrations since Galbatorix created the Empire. A Rider of old was alive! Oromis was the only other Rider from before the Fall, but he was crippled. Iio was not! After a month or so, Iio was returned to his former glory in terms of magic using, and Lejei's stunt growth drugs had worn off. Iio was respected for all he went through, but he found out that both of his parents had died in the war. Iio grieved, but it did not effect him as deeply as he thought it would. After being trapped in a grungy dungeon for a century, he was just glad to have freedom. He was awarded the highest position of nobility next to those who were directly related to the royal family.
The day came when the peace had to end. He and Syra Ietha, another Rider, were on a mission, but were confronted by Galbatorix himself. Iio and she were forced to run, despite Iio's wishes. But, upon entering uncharted territory, a new race was discovered, the Kreeshone, a winged people.
Events followed each other, and Iio and Syra had led them back to Aberon, where they were aloud to make their own city, which was when Iio and Syra found out about Galbatorix's death, and Meru, his apparent daughter, took over the Empire. Iio and Syra returned to Du Weldenvarden and reported to the Queen and informed her fo the events. Iio then traveled back to Aberon, where he intended to learn more about this race.
Introduction:[/u]
Iio closed the book. It was entitled something along the lines of 'Our History', but the translation was unclear. It was written in complete Kreeshonian, and was the first complete book that Iio had read. He could speak fine, read fine, and write fine now. He looked out of his room in Aberon. He could see the distant city that is the capital of the Kreeshone. He was still unsure of them. Why were they so eager to help the Varden when they really had nothing to gain?
'They are fine,' Lejei assured him, sensing his thoughts.
'How do you know that? Until I can search Serth Vyou's mind, I will never be sure. And their power is frightening.'
'Only some of them have frightening power. Other's are just like elven masters.'
'Serth is extremely strong, and even if the weak ones are that of elven mastery, that is still extreme skill! And now, who is to defy them? Think of the havoc they could wreck.'
'Think of the good they could bring.' Lejei argued with Iio, but despite the fact that they bickered on this topic, they saw each other's views. Their power could be good or bad, but it wasn't up to them to decide. Right now, they seemed like an ally, but Iio wasn't so sure. He left his room and began to wander the streets of Aberon. He was amazed with Surda. This was one of his first times being here, it wasn't around before Iio was imprisoned. But Iio had to wonder why Galbatorix didn't just kill him when he had the chance. Iio was certainly a threat to him. It was another thing that Iio had to ponder. The biggest concern of his was the Kreeshone. They would shift the tides of this war if nothing else. They would be the reason why the Empire survived under Meru's rule, or if it was overthrown for a more pleasant government.
